Event Concluded

Event Description

In the overnight hours of June 9/10, 1912, eight people--including six children--were discovered bludgeoned to death with an axe in the tiny town of Villisca, Iowa. After a lengthy investigation produced many suspects, only one went to trial. The first trial ended in a hung jury and the second in an acquittal.
